There are so many options for coffins. We have put together a selection of the most popular coffins that we feel represent a wide range of what is available and based on our experience of quality and value for money.
We will also try to help provide whatever coffin fits the personal requirements of the customer, including bespoke coffin designs or decoration, or assisting you decorate the coffin yourself.
Coffins range in price and our price guide may help you with some of this or we are happy to provide more advice or information. Interestingly cardboard coffins are not cheaper than some wooden coffins. A solid coffin will always be required for cremation but may not be needed for burial where sometimes a shroud might suffice.
We like the classic lines of the traditional funeral vehicles and as well as black we have dark blue. These are all the same price but depends on where the service takes place.
Each limousine seats 7 people. We can provide other cars as necessary from other vehicles or from a range of partners.
There are many other options available for transport including pink or silver hearses, motorcycle and sidecar or trike hearse, using a tractor and trailer, horse and carriage or campervan or VW beetle hearse and matching cars.
This is Danny our lead funeral operative. He has a keen eye detail. All our vehicals receive regular inspection and are aways sent out gleaming thanks to the hours Danny and the rest of the team put in prepping and maintaining the fleet.
We are committed to minimising our impact on the environment and it is one of our core values.
We are able to provide many “green” services for those who are concerned about the environment. In order to be truly environmentally friendly it is important to consider the carbon footprint of each of the pieces of the funeral. This will always have to be balanced with what is practical and desirable. We can help you.
Some of the different aspects to consider are:
As part of our commitment to a more environmentally conscious business we have completed many environmentally friendly projects including our new fully electric vivaro e-life, solar-powered chapel of rest and solar-water-heating shown below.
If you or your loved one are not religious then there are services available which can create a funeral service around the individual personality of the person who has died.
Often non-religious funerals are conducted by a celebrant who performs the role of the vicar in designing and leading the funeral service. There are many different types of celebrant including members of the British Humanist Association or Institute of Civil Funerals or they may be totally independent.
If you have a favourite film or pastime this could be incorporated into a funeral based around the theme. Whether it’s a decorated coffin or fancy dress or special hearse, many things can be incorporated. Ideas that already have been developed include: North American Indian rituals, Star Trek and Star Wars services, funeral journey by narrow boat or postal van (including decorated coffin as a parcel), coffin decorated with sheet music and many more.
We believe we have the right skills and imagination to suggest and fulfil a personal funeral service whatever your requirements, that remains a sensitive and reverent celebration of a person’s life.
Whatever the type of funeral it is important to make the funeral a personal experience. Sometimes this can be achieved by the inclusion of only one simple personalisation , for example we have used a tractor to pull the coffin on a trailer, for a tractor enthusiast. We are happy to discuss these and can provide advice on the practicality of certain ideas.
Orders of Service can be a lasting record of the service and can be treasured for years to come by those who attend funerals. They are not always necessary as hymns can be found in hymn books that are provided in churches or crematoria. However, there are a great many other things that can be included.
