We are very fortunate in this area to be able to have local burials.
Burials can be arranged for most churchyards (e.g. see St Bartholomew's Lower Cam Churchyard) or local council cemetery.
Churchyards are owned and run by the church. They tend to be the cheapest as the fees are set nationally.
Cemeteries are usually run by councils, are more expensive than churchyards and have additional paperwork.
Woodland cemeteries are usually the most expensive but can be beautiful places, managed in tune with nature.
Be it a garden or farm - you can be buried on your own land without the need for planning permission but there are a number of considerations that you should be aware of. You should contact the Environment Agency, consider future plans for the land, e.g. what would happen if the house was sold and complete the relevant paperwork. We will be able to help you with this.
